Coupons in Driftscape allow organizations to offer visitors special deals, discounts, or promotions directly within their Points of Interest (POIs). These digital coupons are simple for organizations to set up, easy for businesses to honour, and intuitive for visitors to redeem. Once enabled for your organization, coupons become a flexible tool for encouraging exploration, supporting local businesses, and enhancing the overall visitor experience.
What are Coupons?
A coupon in Driftscape is a digital offer—such as a percentage discount, a free item, or a limited-time promotion—that visitors can redeem in person. Coupons appear inside POIs in both the Driftscape mobile app and web app.
Coupons are designed to be fast and friction-free: visitors redeem them by showing the coupon screen to business staff, who then confirm the redemption with a single tap.
Are Coupons included in my Driftscape Plan?
You can determine if Coupons are enabled on your account by editing the content for an organization/layer in your plan:

The Coupons link will be available if Coupons are part of your purchased Driftscape plan. If your plan includes Coupons and the button is not displayed, then submit a ticket and we will add that for you. Customers who had the previous Coupons features can request the new system be activated in their account, and they can reimplement them to provide a more enhanced user experience.
Starting in 2026, all new Driftscape sales plans include unlimited Points and Rewards, Coupons, and Contests by default.
Examples of Use Cases for Coupons
Use Case 1: Boosting Foot Traffic for Local Businesses
Cafés, restaurants, and retail shops can offer promotions such as “10% Off Any Purchase” or “Free Dessert with Entrée.” Visitors browsing nearby POIs can immediately see the coupon and visit the business to redeem it.
Use Case 2: Encouraging Multi-Stop Exploration
Organizations can attach coupons to POIs in a route or themed campaign—such as food trails, art walks, or shopping events—to encourage visitors to make multiple stops.
Use Case 3: Seasonal or Event-Based Campaigns
Coupons are useful for temporary promotions such as holiday events, summer passes, and festival specials. For example, “Winter Warm-Up: Free Beverage Upgrade” can appear at participating POIs throughout the season.
What Visitors See in the App
When a visitor opens a POI containing a coupon, they will see a clickable button to open the offer.

What users see in the webapp

What users see on the mobile application
Once users click the offer they will see:
The coupon title
A clear offer description
Instructions for how to redeem the offer
Any requirements (e.g., name, email, password, or optional fields like address/phone)
A button to redeem the coupon

Once the user fills out all their required information (you choose what information is and isn’t required) they’ll receive their coupon. Which they can show to staff at the specified business to claim.
