What Is the Points & Rewards Feature?
Points & Rewards is a gamification tool that allows visitors to collect points by interacting with your POIs in the Driftscape app. These points are unique to your organization and can be redeemed for rewards you define.
You choose:
Which POIs offer points
How many points a visitor can collect at each location
Whether the visitor must be on location to collect points
What rewards are available, where, and how they're claimed
Examples of Use Cases
Use Case 1: Boosting Foot Traffic for Local Businesses
A downtown business association maps 20 local shops and assigns collectible points to each one. As users visit and collect points, they earn rewards like a free coffee, branded merchandise, or local gift cards—all redeemable at a visitor centre or featured location.
This encourages exploration, increases dwell time, and supports local merchants.
Use Case 2: Encouraging Multi-Stop Exploration
A tourism organization maps several individual POIs—such as heritage buildings, public art pieces, and scenic viewpoints—and assigns collectible points to each one. Visitors collect points as they explore these stops, with the option to redeem rewards once they’ve reached a certain threshold.
This approach creates a self-directed experience that promotes deeper engagement across a region.
Use Case 3: Running a Seasonal Contest or Giveaway
A regional tourism board launches a summer campaign where visitors collect points at beaches, parks, and lookout spots. Anyone who reaches 200 points by the end of August can enter a draw for local experiences like ziplining, restaurant vouchers, or festival passes.
This builds excitement, boosts visitation during peak months, and helps promote hidden gems across the area.
What Visitors See in the App
When a visitor opens a POI that has collectable points associated within the Driftscape app, they’ll see a Collect Points button below the POI content.
This is also true in the web app. Tapping Collect Points adds the specified number of points to their points balance. If location verification is required and the user is not nearby, the app will display an error message.
After collecting points, users can:
Tap Collect More Points to find other opportunities to collect points from your organization.
Tap Get Rewards to view a list of the rewards your organization is offering.

If one of your visitors redeems a reward, they will receive an email that contains the reward details.
This user-friendly experience makes it easy for users to engage with your organization while working toward meaningful rewards.
