Organization Name Sort Order

By default, your organization will be sorted in the mobile app by its name. But, this is often not desirable, for example, if your organization is called ‘The municipality of XYZ’, you probably want the entry to sort by ‘xyz’ not by ‘the’.

You can control the sort order by entering a ‘Name sort’ value in the Org Properties for your organization in the CMS:

Organizations are visibly sorted in the mobile app’s Category view under the ‘All Organizations’ section:

There are other places in the category view where organization lists are presented, such as the sub-layers and the Region dropdown lists.

Note that the ‘Name sort’ field is a multilingual field itself: you can define a different sort order for every language version of the organization name.

While the CMS includes this setting, only mobile apps with following versions or greater support the name sorting functionality (to be released publicly by early December 2022):

• iOS: 443, 4.43 or greater

• Android: 461, or 4.0.61 or greater
