How do push notifications work?

Modified on Sun, 31 Mar at 5:33 PM

  • In the Driftscape app, users can subscribe to receive notifications from your organization. This can be done simply by clicking a subscribe button from a POI or your organization description. It can also be done using a deeplink. Once they do so, they will receive all the notifications you create.

  • All push notifications can be created and published using the Driftscape CMS. To send a push notification you first start by creating a channel.

    • For example, you might use a channel called ‘Festival news’ to send current updates and directions during an event. Many organizations will choose to have just one channel, although you can create multiple channels for different types of notifications (up to the limit for your push notifications plan).

  • Then, you can open a channel and  create notifications, which will be sent to all the subscribers of your organization. Notifications can be scheduled, or sent immediately.

  • Users can receive notification messages by email, SMS text, as background OS notifications, or in-app messages if Driftscape is open.

  • Users can easily unsubscribe from an organization’s notifications at any time, from the app or any notification message.
